Description
This companion to a 2005 publication on the same topic, presents case studies documented from a government perspective, rather than from that of civil society.
These case studies illustrate government-civil society partnerships in the implementation of programmes and activities addressing the four critical areas of the Commonwealth Plan of Action for Gender Equality 2005-2015: gender, democracy, peace and conflict; gender, human rights and law; poverty eradication and economic empowerment; and gender and HIV and AIDS.
They represent a variety of successes, challenges and lessons in terms of all aspects of government-civil society partnerships, from the conceptualisation, planning and development of the partnerships and projects, to their implementation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation.
